London super-mansion Heath Hall, The Bishops Avenue N2

fitch-heath-hallOne of the most expensive homes in Britain has had its asking price cut by £35m.

Househunters interested in owning Heath Hall in North London will still have to have  deep pockets however, as the Grade II-listed building is now priced at £65m.

The opulent Edwardian mansion in Hampstead is owned by the property tycoon Andreas  Panayiotou, who spent seven years transforming it into a luxury playground.

The house offers 14 en-suite bedrooms; a home cinema; a wine cellar with space for over  600 bottles; and a leisure complex including a pool, gym, steam room and sauna.

It is extremely high-tech, featuring a steel-lined panic room and lighting and climate  control that can be adjusted using touchscreens on the walls or an iPad.

The renovation, which saw the property extended by about a third of its original size, is estimated to have cost Mr Panayiotou around £40 million.

The cinema room features three-seater sofas and a high-definition cinema screen with 7.1 surround sound
Situated on The Bishops Avenue, an affluent street known as “Billionaires’ Row”, Heath Hall was built in 1910 for William Park Lyle of the Tate & Lyle sugar empire in a mix of Arts and Crafts and Classical style.

It was later used as a home for the blind, then bought in the 1950s by the Bank of China to house employees working in London.

The house was put on the market for £100m with estate agent Glentree International in 2011, but is now being sold for the lower price of £65m.
